SUMMARY:Dear Time
DESCRIPTION:The process of reading has always been a beneficial activity. It increases a child’s quest for knowledge\, enhances confidence in them and is a great habit for all times. It is imperative that this habit be developed for a well-grounded education. To ensure that reading remains a priority. We have initiated a daily D. E. A. R (Drop Everything and Read) Programme. During a D. E. A. R session the whole school drops everything they are doing and takes pleasure in ungraded\, recreational reading for 10 minutes. The activity is carried out during school hours.

SUMMARY:Climate Change March
DESCRIPTION:Grade V and VI students hosted the first climate change march with the theme of Climate Justice Now! The classes were peacefully disrupted as students marched out with handmade posters. Students came out to the ground and sat down in a scattered manner to depict a less formal\, organized protest. Earlier\, students worked with their sustainability teacher Zahra Ali Syed\, to participate in a dialogue about climate change\, create posters of their choices\, and prepare speeches based on the learnings of their sustainability classes.Climate March had a slogan\, ‘Climate Justice Now!’ inspired by 19-year-old Swedish climate change activist Greta Thunberg\, who has been the founder of climate marches since she was 11-years-old. She started protesting with a poster outside her school to raise concerns about her future. She said\, ‘Why should I study if there is no future for me?’ She demanded policy makers make policies to address climate change that is risking the future of the children. \n\nThe event at the Junior branch allowed students to make their voices heard\, share their views and concerns through one minute speeches\, and by making posters on the themes that concern them. Students passionately participated in the march and displayed a thorough understanding of the topic. They were also encouraged to recycle cardboard boxes to create posters instead of buying new paper.
